My name is John Sinclair, and I’ve spent the better part of my life in the fascinating and complex world of tobacco. I’m a seasoned tobacco industry expert with over 30 years of experience. My journey began in the rolling hills of Kentucky where I was born and raised amidst the vast tobacco plantations. Today, I call London, England home, but my work continues to take me across the globe.

I started my career with the renowned British American Tobacco, working in their research and development department. My task? To develop new blends and flavors. I had the privilege of being part of the team that introduced the first ultra-light cigarette to the market. After a decade there, I transitioned to Philip Morris International where I took on the role of Head of Quality Control. I spent countless hours ensuring that the tobacco leaves met the highest standards of quality and consistency.

In my time in this industry, I’ve been honored with several awards, including the prestigious Golden Leaf Award for my contributions to tobacco science and the Industry Advocate Award for promoting responsible tobacco use.

But what I’m most proud of is the impact I’ve had on tobacco farming communities. I helped establish the Tobacco Leaf Initiative, a program that provides education and resources to tobacco farmers worldwide, ensuring they follow sustainable farming practices and improve their livelihoods.

When I’m not deeply engrossed in all things tobacco, I indulge in my love for vintage cars and amateur astronomy. On weekends, you’ll often find me tinkering with my 1960 Austin-Healey or gazing at the stars through my telescope. I also enjoy exploring London’s vibrant culinary scene and have developed a taste for traditional British ales.
